Meet Felicia

WRITER | Traveler | Mother

Felicia Marie is a writer, educator, and traveler whose work explores identity, faith, memory, and the connections between people and place.

She believes that ordinary lives contain extraordinary stories. Drawn to the intersection of history, culture, and human connection, her work explores themes of belonging, resilience, family, and the ways the past continues to influence the present. Whether writing personal essays, travel narratives, or working on historical fiction, her goal is to create work that helps readers better understand themselves and one another.

In addition to her writing, Felicia teaches entrepreneurship in Southern California. Before entering education, she founded Holi Cannoli, a specialty dessert company that served major sporting and entertainment venues throughout Los Angeles.

Felicia is currently seeking representation for a historical novel inspired by her grandmother’s experiences in southern Italy during World War II.

Mission

The stories that stay with us are rarely the biggest moments of our lives. More often, they are the quiet conversations, family traditions, acts of courage, and fleeting experiences that reveal who we truly are.

My work is inspired by the Mediterranean way of life, where history is woven into everyday routines, and storytelling remains an essential part of culture. Through historical fiction, personal essays, and travel writing, I explore the connections between place, identity, family, faith, and belonging.

Whether I am researching a World War II story in southern Italy or writing about a small coastal town along the Ligurian Sea, my goal remains the same: to tell honest stories that help people feel seen, understood, and connected.

Guiding Principles

  • Every person carries a story worth preserving.
  • The places we visit shape us as much as the books we read.
  • Writing is an act of observation before it is an act of creation.
  • History becomes meaningful when we understand it.
  • The best stories leave us feeling less alone.

Why Mediterranean living?

I didn’t become interested in Mediterranean living because of a scientific study. I became interested because of Italy.

The more time I spent there, the more I noticed that life felt different. Meals lasted longer. People walked everywhere. Families gathered around the table without rushing off to the next thing; it was a reason to slow down and connect.

And as I got older, I found myself paying attention to something else: the people. I met men and women in their eighties and nineties who were still active, independent, and engaged with life. They weren’t chasing the latest health trend. They were simply living in a way that had been passed down for generations.

For me, Mediterranean living is about choosing quality over convenience, gathering around the table with people I love, staying curious through travel and learning, and creating space for the stories that connect us to one another. It is a philosophy rooted in simplicity and gratitude.
